世界和联合国必须降低人口增长

哥德堡/伦敦—9月24-25日,世界领导人将齐聚美国纽约,评估联合国2030议程及其17个可持续发展目标(SDG)的进展情况。SDG旨在“结束贫困,保护地球,确保所有人的繁荣”,这是一组值得赞商的目标,也集中体现了许多人所愿意看到的2030年的世界。但如果这一愿景要保持实现的希望,政府就必须加上第18个目标:“降低人口增长”。

人类对全球环境的总影响便是人口规模和平均人均消费之积。联合国政府间其后委员会推算,人口增长和经济(消费)增长是全球变暖的两个主要原因。发达经济体的人均资源消费和温室气体排放是最高的,而发展中国家的人口迅速增长导致了森林和生物多样性流失。
