蒙着面纱的摩洛哥女权主义者

人们常常想当然地认为现代女权主义在宗教复兴的社会、特别是伊斯兰世界没有立足之地,所以也不可能取得任何进展。但是摩洛哥近年来妇女权利的进步表明情况恰恰相反:世俗和宗教妇女的激进思想、各政党的考虑算计和国王发挥的重大作用这三种因素巧妙的融合起来,共同促成了这种实质性的进步。

摩洛哥女权主义先驱们在1956年国家获得独立之后不久就投身于他们的追求。虽然总体而言他们代表自由主义,但是他们也认识到了伊斯兰教在整个摩洛哥社会中的重要地位。所以,他们采取有一定伊斯兰教特征的方法,谨慎地表达自己的诉求。

摩洛哥第一代女权主义者受到的主要核心思想是,控制男女互动的不是宗教,而是社会传统。社会传统常常利用宗教得到加强。例如,妇女和她们的性纯洁与男人和他们家族的荣誉紧密相连,通过把它作为伊斯兰的基本教义而维护这一联系。对于这些激进主义者而言,这种关联就是为了维持对妇女的控制,是摩洛哥社会、而非伊斯兰的组成部分。
