北京—伊拉克和叙利亚的流血日益升级,中国与世界其他国家一样对此十分关切。事实上,大中东正在成为也来越重要的中国外交政策重点。

而刚刚结束的北京中阿合作论坛第六届部长级会议上,中国国家主席习近平建议阿拉伯国家升级其与中国的战略关系,深化从金融和能源到空间技术等领域的双边合作。这反映出中国更大的目标——这一目标部分是为了应对美国的亚洲“支点”政策——战略焦点向西倾斜的再平衡,以阿拉伯世界为重点。

当然,中国与阿拉伯国家的经济关系十多年来一直在加强,贸易额从2004年的255亿美元增加到2013年的2,389亿美元。如今,中国是阿拉伯世界第二大贸易伙伴,也是九个阿拉伯国家最大的贸易伙伴。不出十年,中阿贸易额预计将达6,000亿美元。工程合同和投资也有助于加强合作。
