伟大领袖的复兴

伦敦——滑铁卢战役已经过去两百年了,拿破仑在那场战役中的灾难性失败严重损害了法国的自尊,以至于戴高乐将军在书写法国军史时对此役只字不提。尽管如此,如果你承认“伟大”是某种个人特质,那么拿破仑和戴高乐都能称之为有史以来最伟大的领袖。

马克思和托尔斯泰会说根本不存在什么“伟大领袖”。在马克思看来,法国的阶级斗争创造了拿破仑这样的“怪诞庸才”成为英雄的环境。在托尔斯泰看来,拿破仑算不上特别出色的将军,他的胜利应该归功于打赢波罗底诺战役的法国士兵的勇气和献身精神。

无论拿破仑是否伟大,我们都要搞清能否用伟大来形容任何一位领导人。如果答案是肯定的,那么哪些人能用伟大来形容?
