安卡拉—世界正在进入后工业时代,制造业日益复杂,竞争日益全球化。要想成功,一国日益需要高技能和教育程度的工作人口。因此,提升中学传授的技能水平就成为发展中和发达国家的紧要任务。

对我来说,教育问题并不只是个学问上的问题。我出生在一个有九个孩子的家庭中。我的父母亲是文盲,我的姐妹们也没上过初中。但是,在我家的下一代中,我所有的侄辈都拥有高中文凭,大部分还上了大学。

改善一个小学生和中学生数量超过1,600万人的教育体系——比20个欧盟成员国加起来还要多——是一项艰巨的财政挑战。因此,第一步是建立扎实的改革的宏观经济基础。
