最近,加拿大学者型政治家迈克尔·伊格纳提夫(Michael Ignatieff)敦促美国总统奥巴马在叙利亚设置禁飞区,但俄罗斯几乎肯定会否决这一措施合法化所必须的联合国安理会决议。伊格纳提夫认为,如果放任叙利亚总统巴沙尔·阿萨德继续统治,他的部队将击溃省下的逊尼派起义军——至少现在是如此,而仇恨会蔓延,流血终将再次发生。
