战争的废墟

纽约——卡尔·马克思的名言是历史会不断重复上演,“第一次是悲剧,第二次是闹剧。”但当今局势却令我们不由怀疑悲剧后面是否还有更多的悲剧。恰逢一战爆发一百周年,我们身边随处可见的暴力、欺骗和玩世不恭却与1914年曾令世界陷入灾难的毫无二致。当时深陷其中的地区现在仍在参与。

一战爆发是因为人们相信军事手段能解决紧迫的中欧社会及政治问题。一个世纪前,德国军事理论家卡尔·冯·克劳塞维茨曾写道战争是“其他政治交往方式的延续”。1914年时他的说法得到了很多政治家的支持。

但克劳塞维茨的悲剧性错误在一战中得到了证实。工业时代的战争实质是悲剧、灾难和破坏;战争根本解决不了政治问题。战争并非政治的延续,而是政治失败的标志。
