发自华盛顿特区——随着中国对全球事务的影响力日渐增大,全世界也正以一种前所未有的仔细态度观察这个世界大国将以何种面目面对世人。而当下个月被关押的异见分子刘晓波被正式授予诺贝尔和平奖之时,人们的目光将从中国领导人所谓的“崛起”中转向他们对那些敢于发表反对声音的人民的长期镇压之上。而中国官员对该奖项笨拙的反应已经破坏了他们将中国的“软实力”投射到全球各地的目标。

刘晓波之所以能得到这个奖,是因为他将毕生精力投入到了政治行动之中。但我们同时也应该对另一个在押的中国异见分子给予同样关注,他在中国司法系统中的困境与刘晓波类似——且更深刻地揭露了所谓许可之下的异见的界限。

北京一所法院日前判处赵连海(一位前广告销售人员)有期徒刑两年半,而罪名则是“利用社会热点问题,煽动纠集多人…….严重扰乱社会秩序”.
