欧洲梦破灭了吗?

纽约——欧元怀疑论者终究说对了吗?人们对发生另一场欧洲战争的担忧促成了欧洲统一的梦想,天真地希望独立国家已经过时并将让位于出众的欧洲人,这种希望支持着该梦想,这个不切实际的梦想破灭了吗?

从表面上来看,欧洲当前的危机是金融危机,许多人预测这场危机将使欧盟四分五裂。目前欧元的构建者之一雅克•德洛尔称,自己创造单一货币的想法是好的,但是“实施的过程”有缺陷,因为较弱的国家举债过多。

但是,从根本上来说,这是一场政治危机。当主权国家拥有自己的货币时,公民愿意看到其上交的税收用到一些最弱的地区,这是国家团结的表现,国家的团结感能够使国民团结起来,在危机期间,为了集体利益,他们会做好牺牲自己个人利益的准备。
