以色列正如何失去美国的支持?

特拉维夫——已故美国外交家乔治·鲍尔曾经说过以色列需要从其自身“不由自主”实行的自杀式政策中被拯救。在一篇1977年《外交事务》杂志刊载的文章中,他呼吁美国不偏不倚地推进阿以和平。但尽管鲍尔有关以巴冲突问题的现实立场在美国国务院官员中屡见不鲜,但却一直被视为美国政治体制的禁区,现有政治体制长期以来就以色列问题达成了几乎神圣的共识——至少持续到目前为止。

可以肯定,在某种程度上,鲍尔的立场只代表极少数。归根结底,美国从未动摇保持以色列“军事能力质的优势”的决心。事实上,美国总统巴拉克·奥巴马政府打破了为以色列提供军事援助的所有历史记录,尽管以色列总理内塔尼亚胡从不愿利用美国纳税人资助的军事优势承担合理的和平风险。从这个意义上讲,美国仍然在为以色列目中无人的吞并政策提供支持。
