Para evitarmos choques económicos e sociais graves, e para protegermos ecossistemas essenciais, precisamos urgentemente de limitar o aumento da temperatura global a 1,5° Celsius acima do nível pré-industrial. Para conseguirmos as necessárias reduções nas emissões de gases com efeito de estufa necessitaremos de ousadia, criatividade, e de tomar algumas decisões difíceis. Mas a experiência da Costa Rica demonstra que, no longo prazo, aquilo que se ganha mais do que compensa os sacrifícios para todos.
