房屋保险就是一个绝佳的例子。目前几乎在世界范围内,房屋保险都只是一种短期产品。房屋保险通常每年需要续保一次,这就是说房屋保险对保险公司在未来续保时提高保费的风险无法提供任何有效保障。

而近年来我们看到房屋保险的费率发生了重大的变化。比如,佛罗里达平均房屋保险的保费从2002年初的723美元飞涨到了2007年第一季度的1465美元。如此快速上涨所带来的风险与这些保单本来需要承保的损害风险其量级基本相同。
