西方的衰落将伤及中国

香港—中国官方媒体现在很“爽”,大肆宣扬西方民主国家发生问题的情况。从英国投票“脱离”欧盟,到唐纳德·特朗普被提名为共和党美国总统候选人,更不用说日益频繁的恐怖袭击,西方民主国家发生问题的证据不胜枚举。但真相是西方之所失并非中国之所得。

当然,中国希望目前全球民主国家的艰难状况能够提高中国共产党的信誉。事实上,中共官方报纸《人民日报》的一篇评论将英国脱欧投票描述为西方民主根本性缺陷的体现。同一张报纸援引特朗普的崛起证明,在美国制度中,政治领导人在解决种族对峙等“复杂社会冲突”和其他群众不满根源方面很“无助”。

《人民日报》下属的极端民族主义报纸《环球时报》似乎认为,最近在西方发生的恐怖袭击是民主启示录的先兆。西方可能正面临某些神秘的、难以想象的“变化”,《环球时报》说。
