法国对希拉克、而不是欧洲说“不”

大多数观察家都同意,若五月二十九日举行的法国公投拒绝欧盟宪法,将大大削弱法国总统雅克·希拉克(Jacques Chirac)在法国国内和欧洲境内的威望和影响力。但是很多人搞错的是这件事情可能给欧盟所带来的后果。

正如一些人所相信的那样,否决欧盟宪法并不意味着法国对欧洲的拒绝,它只是对希拉克任职总统的不信任投票。希拉克通过在欧洲推行一个贸易保护主义、团体主义国家的范例来削弱欧盟,当那些新加入欧盟的小国与他意见不一致时,希拉克就让他们“闭嘴”。对欧洲和欧洲的整合进程而言,任何能够使希拉克大伤元气的事情都是好消息。

因此,那些渴望看到一个更为强大完整的欧盟的人应该支持法国的否决票,要知道一些投否决票的人正是由于错误的原因做了正确的事情。
