欧洲的矛盾议会

欧洲议会议员们(MEP)实际上都在做些什么?将在6月4号至7号举行的欧洲议会选举中有资格投票的三亿七千五百万选民中,大多数人可能只有一个朦胧的 概念,甚至根本没有任何概念。这就解释了为什么整个欧盟的投票率有可能低至灾难性的程度。 而30年前,当第一次议会举行选举时,有将近三分之二的选民参加了投票,但这些年来,投票率却节节下降。今年可能只有30 % 。

欧洲的政治家们对欧盟及其扩展和深化的方式基本上是感到自豪的。但是,正是欧盟变得日益复杂的情况成了选民热情减弱的根源,所以他们的冷漠应该引起严重的关注。

欧洲选举本身就古怪并不能令人满意,也没有明显的欧盟范围的问题让人们可以投票赞成或反对,而每个欧洲议会议员的平均选民人数远远超过50万人,投票也不是对个人声望的测试。在欧洲大部分地区,选举将是一个对国家问题投抗议票的机会。
