巴黎—2009年和巴拉克·奥巴马开始担任总统会标志着跨大西洋关系开始进入一个新时代吗?或者经济危机的纵深度和严重性会让过去的分裂徘徊不去?这一危机将会使大西洋两岸出现民族主义的和只顾自己的态度,阻碍期待已久的关系好转吗?如果不是完全恢复这种关系的话?

但在大西洋两岸的关系领域过多地指望一个人,无论他有多少独特之处,都是不明智的。这也同样适用于全球关系。根本性的问题依然还在,新的问题也可能发生。
