环境挑战的地缘政治

伦敦——世界许多国家似乎都陷入到紧张局势。西方与俄罗斯的关系、北约的未来、叙利亚内战和难民问题、日益崛起的右翼民粹主义、自动化的影响和英国即将脱欧带来的冲击:所有这些话题——和其他问题交织在一起——已经牢牢占据了世界各国公众辩论的主题。但有一个问题——有人可能会说这个问题是最重要的——正在遭到忽视或者搁置:那就是环境问题。

今年在瑞士达沃斯世界经济论坛年会上的情况就是如此。除中国主席习近平提到巴黎气候协定外,像气候变化和可持续发展这样的话题甚至被从主要舞台上挤了出去。相反,他们被降格到附属会议上讨论,附属会议的议题似乎与当前政治和经济事件鲜有交集。

允许环境问题在当前这一地缘政治和社会动荡期半途而废是一个错误,这不仅是因为目前恰恰是管理气候变化之战的关键时期。环境退化和自然资源不安全正在削弱我们应对某些全球最严重问题的能力。
