Mettre un terme à la guerre en Syrie

NEW YORK – La Syrie est actuellement la plus grande catastrophe humanitaire au monde et, du point de vue géopolitique, le conflit le plus dangereux de la planète. Les Syriens sont emportés dans un bain de sang, qui a fait plus de 400 000 morts et déplacé dix millions de personnes.

De violents groupes djihadistes, soutenus par des parrains extérieurs, ravagent sans pitié le pays et s’attaquent aux populations. Toutes les parties en conflit – le régime du président Bachar Al-Assad, les forces anti-Assad soutenues par les États-Unis et leurs alliés, ainsi que l’État islamique – ont commis et continuent de commettre de graves crimes de guerre.

Il est temps de trouver une solution. Mais celle-ci doit s’articuler à une analyse transparente et réaliste des causes premières de la guerre.
