超级美元的衰败

如果美元丧失其超级货币的地位,美国作为世界主导超级大国的地位是否会随之动摇呢?可能不会,但是,如果美元从霸主位置跌落,美国人肯定会发现其全球霸权将会大为费钱。

知道目前,美国人通过从轻易受到影响的外国人那里廉价借钱并且把钱投资于高回报的外国资产、土地以及债券而攫取利润。如果把资本收益计算进去,那么,在最近几年中,美国人每年获得了大致3000亿美元到4000亿美元的利润,这一数目大体相当于美国整个军事预算。

法国前总统德斯坦曾经引人注目地抱怨美国的“嚣张特权”。美国似乎可以让世界充斥美元货币和债务,而不必为更高的通货膨胀或者利率而付出代价。德斯坦对此十分气恼。
