为什么要构建普惠金融的经济?

如今,有大约二十亿成年人无法获得哪怕是最为基本的金融服务。数字普惠金融就是要通过大规模普及平价的电子金融工具——如人们可以在手机上访问的借记账户,来扩大正式经济的普及度。

当穷人开始使用这些服务时,将发生两件事。首先,他们能更有效地管理资金——用新的方法来储蓄、支付、获得信用或购买高线。其次,他们不需要花那么多时间照看简单的金融交易,可以将更多的时间用于生产工作或经营自己的小本生意。此外,收入和储蓄的增加将提高穷人面对(比如)意外医疗开支或庄稼歉收等事件所导致的金融冲击的恢复力。

Instead, Ernest Liu, Amir Sufi, and Atif Mian contend, extremely low rates may lead to slower growth by increasing market concentration and thus weakening firms' incentive to boost productivity.
