摆脱束缚的中国

悉尼 ——12 月初 5 名中国共产党省委书记的任命让人再次联想起 2012 年中国下一代领导人的接班问题,这或许是从邓小平 1978 年掌权算起中国政治领域意义最重大的进展之一。新一代领导人将第一次很少或没有亲身经历过毛泽东时代的混乱和艰苦。忘记这段历史可能会导致中国重复过去的错误,但无论是好是坏,忘记这段历史也可以让中国领导人摆脱束缚,获得自由。

5 位省委书记都是在 1949 年中华人民共和国成立后出生的。他们中的两位,胡春华和孙政才,都只有 46 岁。这符合党不久前公布的政策,即下一代领导人平均年龄应该控制在 55 岁左右,由不到 50 岁的领导干部任职的最高职位不超过 4 个。党的目标是在中国崛起过程中确保党内的生机和活力。

这似乎是个明智的决策。过去 15 年来,中国领导人一直致力于调整和保持由邓在 1989 年天安门抗议事件后开创的国家主导模式的发展势头。在这方面,中国第三和第四代领导人在技术专家江泽民和胡锦涛的领导下,表现稳健但缺乏想象力。
