Charlie y los medios antimusulmanes

PARÍS – Es fácil calificar el atentado mortal contra Charlie Hebdo como un ataque a la libertad de expresión. Pero, ¿debe sorprendernos que una organización terrorista internacional conocida por su brutal desprecio por los derechos humanos y los valores humanitarios haya atacado a un medio que se ha especializado en provocarla?

Así como gran parte de los medios sociales en el mundo árabe/musulmán publican rutinariamente diatribas antisemitas, hay una industria global de medios que se dedican a todo lo que sea antimusulmán. En una semana cualquiera, periodistas, blogueros, tuiteros y demás de Francia, Europa (y cada vez más de la India) expresan toda serie de cosas que son ofensivas o provocadoras para los musulmanes, o por lo menos, para los más devotos y fanáticos de ellos.

Hay literalmente cientos de sitios Web, programas de radio y canales de televisión que se especializan en propaganda antimusulmana y antiislámica. El hashtag de Tuiter #killallMoslems (maten a todos los musulmanes) ha existido desde 2011. Mientras que esta profusión de insolencia puede reconfortar a quienes están preocupados por la libertad de expresión, a mí no me reconforta como musulmán europeo.
