Charlie und die antimuslimische Medienmaschinerie

PARIS – Es ist einfach, den tödlichen Anschlag auf Charlie Hebdo als Angriff auf die freie Meinungsäußerung zu diskutieren. Aber sollte es uns überraschen, dass eine für ihre brutale Missachtung der Menschenrechte und menschlicher Werte bekannte weltweite Terrororganisation ein Medienunternehmen angreift, das sich auf Provokationen dieser Organisation spezialisiert hat?

Ebenso wie in großen Teilen der sozialen Medien in der arabischen/muslimischen Welt routinemäßig antisemitische Tiraden veröffentlicht werden, existiert auch eine weltweite Medien-Industrie, die sich gegen alles Muslimische wendet.  Es vergeht keine Woche, in der französische, europäische (und zunehmend auch indische) Journalisten, Blogger, Twitterer und andere regelmäßig alles Mögliche posten, mit dem man Muslime – zumindest die strenggläubigen und fanatischen - beleidigt oder provoziert.

Es gibt buchstäblich hunderte Webseiten, Radioprogramme und TV-Netzwerke, die sich auf antimuslimische und antiislamische Propaganda spezialisiert haben. Der Twitter-Hashtag #killallMoslems besteht seit 2011. Und obwohl diejenigen, die sich um die die Freiheit der Meinungsäußerung sorgen, dieses Übermaß an Brüskierung möglicherweise erfreulich finden, habe ich als europäischer Muslim überhaupt keine Freude damit.
