ما هي الصناعة؟

لندن ــ إن شركات صناعة السيارات تخشى من أبل. وتقلب يوتيوب، ونيتفليكس، وأمازون صناعة التلفزيون رأساً على عقب. كما غيرت سكايب، وفيسبوك، وتويتر، وسناب شات، وغيرها مفاهيم المستهلكين حول كيفية التواصل بين بعضهم البعض ــ وتكاليف هذا التواصل. إن القطاعات ورسم الخطوط العريضة الصناعات كما نعرفها تنهار الآن.

ذات يوم، كانت هذه الخطوط ترسم عالم واضح المعالم إلى حد كبير. فكانت شركات السيارات تصنع السيارات، وكانت في صناعة السيارات. وكانت شركات الهاتف تضمن تمكيننا من الحديث مع آخرين على بُعد مسافات بعيدة للغاية، وكانت في قطاع الاتصالات. وكانت شركات البث تصنع البرامج التلفزيونية، وكانت في قطاع الإعلام.

كان كل شيء مرتباً ومنظما. وكان بوسع المحللين أن يصنفوا الشركات بسهولة وأن ينبئوا الأسواق بقيمتها، وكان بوسع مجالس الإدارات أن تشرف على الشركات وعينها على مصلحة المساهمين، وكان كل شيء في العالم منظما، إلى أن تبدلت الحال.
