纽约——本周即将召开的联合国大会年会重要议程是评估可持续发展目标(SDGs)的全球进展状况,可持续发展目标是联合国就解决截止2030年全球最重大挑战的发展蓝图所达成的一致目标。

我本人参与过协助制定千年发展目标的联合国团队,千年发展目标是出台可持续发展目标之前的版本。到2015年千年发展目标计划结束时,它已经成功推动了全世界有史以来最迅速和广泛的全球卫生和发展增长。千年发展目标为可持续发展目标题铺平了道路,我本人也因为全球社会对实现后2015年发展议程所表现出来的坚定决心而感到鼓舞。

但我和其他人也明确认识到,如果没有对妇女和女童需求以数据为基础的深思熟虑的重点关注,实现一系列目标的进展状况将会受到影响。如果我们无法实现普遍的性别平等,我们就无法实现从结束贫困到确保身体健康在内的很多其他目标。
