洛杉矶——切尔诺贝利核电站爆炸后二十八年,别样的核幽灵出现在乌克兰面前:乌克兰的反应堆可能会在俄罗斯军事入侵中遭受打击。乌克兰代理外长杰舍察在三月海牙召开的核安全峰会上讲话时表示如果局势恶化导致公开战争爆发,“很多核设施都有可能受到威胁”

本月初,乌克兰驻国际原子能机构大使伊霍尔·普罗科普丘克向管理委员会递交了一封信件,警告军事入侵可能给“乌克兰及邻国领土带来辐射污染威胁”。 基辅的乌克兰议会呼吁国际监察员协助保护核设施,同时囊中羞涩的政府也在尽一切努力完成这项任务。
