曼谷——中国政府和香港第一大富豪、备受推崇的李嘉诚正在进行一场激烈的争吵——而且在小报上越来越像一次激烈的离婚。事实上,中国媒体近来一直在尖刻地评论李嘉诚。他犯了什么“罪”?像投资者那样在欧洲低价买入在中国高价卖出。

引发这波轻蔑谴责的是李抛售在上海的某些高端物业,还把公司注册地从香港转到开曼群岛。这完全是普通而理性的商业决策,目的是最大限度地减轻税收负担。事实上,约70%的香港上市公司都在加勒比地区进行过注册,就连包括互联网巨头阿里巴巴在内的一些大型内地企业也在海外避税天堂注册以求避税。

但在中国媒体幼稚的文章中,此举暴露了李的“不爱国”和“忘恩负义”。当中国最需要他的时候,他却抛弃了这个使他从极端贫困成长为世界首富的国度。
