Mexico's election of Enrique Peña Nieto as President has restored to power the Institutional Revolutionary Party, which controlled the country for seven decades. Does the PRI’s comeback after 12 years in opposition imply a return to the corrupt, authoritarian ways of its past? Or will Mexico’s strengthened democratic institutions and civil society keep the country moving forward?
