灰色的世界

发自堪培拉——如果以对人类尊严,权利和民主的贡献来进行区分的话,曾为剧作家及政治异见分子的捷克前总统哈维尔和朝鲜暴君金正日堪称生活在两个世界。而当他们仅隔一日在本月相继离世的时候,所产生的对比也是全球评论者们无法否认的:一位是布拉格的光明王子,一位是平壤的暗黑之神。

但同时也有必要记住:上述这种善恶二元对立论——其最著名信徒莫过于美国前总统小布什以及英国前首相布莱尔,而且最近又有所抬头——将会对国际政策制定者们带来两大风险。

一种风险是这种思维限制了那些跟“无可救药的恶魔领导人”有效打交道的选项。当年以美国为首的联军在2003年入侵伊拉克,最终却以黯然退兵收场的事实直截了当地教育了我们:虽然有些人的行为令我们恼火,但只通过枪杆子来与这些人进行对话是存在极大风险的。
