“老欧洲”的胜利

意大利可能击败了法国获得了世界杯,但是真正的赢家是曾经被拉姆斯菲尔德所诟病的“老欧洲”。毕竟,谁会预料到世界杯冠军决赛在法国和意大利之间进行呢?这看起来好像是两个“欧洲病夫”的国家队觉得有义务改变它们国家在世界上的形象。

对于意大利而言,在几乎将意大利超级足球联赛毁于一旦的腐败丑闻之后,意大利国家队不得不在同胞们的心目中为这一运动平反。但是,就更为全球化的范围而言,这好像是“老欧洲”决定现在是拨乱反正、证明自己比世界上的新兴力量更为富有活力的时候了。
