  Nothing new being discussed in the article. Chinese makes up around 25% of world population but China has less than 10% of world's natural resources. It is either "renewal" or regression.

  Will this Greek tragedy be a compelling reasons for future lession? I think not. What have we learned from Asian Crisis? Tequila Crisis?
  

• The Myth of Chinese Meritocracy

  Mr. Pei's comments on many senior Chinese officials use fradulent or dubious academic degrees are his conjecture. Where are his factual evidence to back his statement other than guesswork and speculation based on his observations? I respect freedom of opinion, but there must be limits to such freedom. Also, I am utterly disappointed that, as a FULL Professor in an acclaimed university, he should know better than to provide unsubstantiated written opinion. Worse still, Project Syndicate should have vetted before publishing such sloppy work.

• Central Bankers under Siege

  Mr. Kerridge's comments are uncalled for and unfair to Indians. Please do not generalize and oversimplify by saying " Indians who received education in ideologically biased and technically focused economics typical of the USA become brainwashed.".
