      Submission Guidelines

Unsolicited manuscripts are welcome, provided that they are not simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Prospective contributors are strongly encouraged to acquaint themselves with Project Syndicate's series when considering whether their submission addresses relevant subjects, themes, and issues. Please note that Project Syndicate's mission is to provide its member newspapers with commentaries devoted to reflection and analysis, rather than journalistic articles that cover particular news events. Contributors often possess demonstrated expertise regarding their chosen topics.

In some cases, submissions are accepted as Web-only "On Deck" commentaries. Selected "On Deck" commentaries are featured in Project Syndicate's "Economists' Club" or alongside commentaries in "Mind, Matter & Politics."

The preferred length of manuscripts is 800-900 words, with a 1,000-word maximum. Any accompanying image, graph, or figure should be at least 540 pixels wide, and submitted in JPEG or PNG format.

We regret that we cannot respond to every submission. Prospective contributors who do not receive a response within five days should feel free to submit their manuscripts elsewhere.
